Episode 20: Heroes Among Us

Co-Producer ???
Written by Judd Lynn
Directed by Peter Salmon

Summary: Dillon sees another flashback of his memory. He sees himself and others, and almost sees his sisters face, in a Venjix prison camp.

Colonel Truman saves a little girl from a Grinder, but is then trapped in between Grinders and an Attack Bot. Ranger Gold saves Colonel Truman and destroys the Attack Bot, while Ranger Red destroys the Grinders.

Later, Colonel Truman arrives with a reward and says that today he witnessed a true hero. But Scott is surprised when the Colonel gives Gem the Medal of Valor for his bravery in the fight today. Gem is overly excited about his medal. Summer calms him down and explains that Scott is hurt that his dad never notices him. After everyone leaves, Scott takes off into the wasteland.

Gem uses his Zord to catch up with Scott. Gem asks Scott why he came out there when he always says to stick with the team and always have a plan. Scott admits that he screwed up. Gem apologizes for over reacting with the medal and explains that he never got a medal before and he really likes it, but then throws the medal to make Scott feel better. But Scott tells him that he deserves that metal and picks it up to give back to him. Scott then sees some human footprints. They see some escaped refugees being captured by Grinders and Tenaya 7. They hear Tenaya 7 say that she will be bringing them to Venjix's Palace, so Scott comes up with a plan.

At Venjix's Palace, Generals Shifter and Crunch are upgrading a new body for Venjix.

Scott and Gem wear a disguise and allow themselves to be captured. One of the captured refugees, Commander Murdoch, tells them to run for Corinth and send help while he distracts them. Scott tries telling him not to, but the Commander creates a distraction anyways. Scott tells Gem to stick with the plan, and so they watch as the Commander is quickly recaptured, and is about to be eliminated by Tenaya 7 for trying to escape again. Scott and Gem morph and rescue the refugees.

Venjix's new body is complete. Venjix begins downloading himself into his new body.

Scott and Gem transport the refugees back to Corinth. Scott calls Dr. K to get a gate open for them. Venjix learns that one of the city's gates has opened, so he stops the download at 80% and heads for Corinth. Commander Murdoch explains to Colonel Truman that he was rescued by Scott. Venjix arrives, and the Rangers form SkyRev Megazord. They use max power at close range to blast Venjix, but the blast forces them out of their Megazord, and Venjix returns to normal size. Venjix takes down Ranger Gold. Ranger Gold gives Ranger Red his Cloud Hatchet, and Ranger Red destroys Venjix using his Street Saber and the Cloud Hatchet. Shifter takes Venjix back to the Palace.

Scott tells Dillon that Commander Murdoch said that he was held in a prison camp where they are infecting humans with the Venjix Virus, building hybrids.

Colonel Truman rewards Scott a Medal of Valor for rescuing Commander Murdoch and the others, but Scott explains that he wasn't on a mission to save anyone, he was being selfish. Scott then gives the medal back and explains that the day he honestly deserves the medal, he will proudly accept it.
