Episode 10: Ranger Blue

Co-Producer Jackie Marchand
Written by Madellaine Paxson
Directed by Charlie Haskell

Summary: Dr. K answers questions from her team regarding the Ranger Bio-Series suits, vehicles, and hardware. She explains that those are not eyes on the Zords, they are Optical Field Scanning Sensors for their cockpit's A2D display. Ziggy wonders why there is a gigantic explosion behind them when they morph. Dr. K explains that the Residual Energy Runoffs are sometimes necessary to clear the suit's biofield channels during the morph. Flynn asks if it's absolutely necessary that they scream, "RPM, GET IN GEAR!" Dr. K explains that the vocal call out is a voice-recognition safety and security measure.

Flashback: Young Flynn is in the schoolyard reading a comic book - "Rebel Justice Unleashed: Vol. II". Trying to help a girl get her lunch back, the fight gets him two weeks' suspension. His father tries to tell him that there's no such thing as superheroes.

Grinders, Tenaya 7, the Generals and an Attack Bot infiltrate the city. The Attack Bot grows as the Rangers are fighting the others. Ranger Blue activates his time-freeze burst, but the suit malfunctions, causing him to get stuck.

Flashback: Flynn has graduated from school, and wants to help people. He becomes a Police Officer, but is fired after arresting the mayor's son. Flynn then becomes a Firefighter, but is fired by the Chief after refusing to shut off the hose, just wanting to save more lives. So next Flynn becomes an International Aid Volunteer, but when he and the other Volunteers are ordered to evacuate as they are told that troops are raiding villages up and down the river, Flynn chooses to stay and help the villagers fight off the troops, and is fired. So Flynn becomes a mechanic like his dad. Then Venjix forces attack.

The Rangers protect Ranger Blue and destroy the Grinders, but Tenaya 7 and the Generals escape. Ranger Blue then becomes unstuck.

Back at base, Dr. K explains that the Blue Color Series had an energy-flow glitch that plagued Series Blue during initial development. She tells Flynn that Series Blue is off-line until she can figure out a way to divert all excess energy runoff, and tells him that he is to do nothing.

Flashback: Flynn and his father arrive in Corinth city, but there are still others out there...

The team discovers that Venjix is planning for the Attack Bot to cause a volcanic eruption big enough to destroy the entire city. Rangers Green and Black form ValveMax Megazord and try to stop the Attack Bot, but the Attack Bot blasts the Megazord with lava.

Flashback: Flynn takes the school bus transport vehicle that brought him and his dad and goes back out to find a woman's five year old daughter. Flynn returns to Corinth with the woman's daughter and other people. Flynn's father tells him that he is proud of him, and that after all these years of telling him that superheroes don't exist, it turns out, the whole time he was looking at one.

Tenaya 7 and Grinders attack Rangers Red and Yellow. Flynn shows up to help, he inserts his Engine Morph Cell into his Cell Shift Morpher upside down and successfully morphs. And the energy runoff explosion takes down Tenaya 7 and some Grinders. Ranger Blue finishes the remaining Grinders, then the Rangers form High Octane Megazord and destroy the Attack Bot.

Later, Flynn takes some groceries to his dad's garage. He finds his father asleep with a scrapbook of newspaper articles about Flynn, Ranger Blue, saving everyone and stopping the Venjix attacks.
